The International Centre: provides support, assistance and advice to international students, including hosting international orientation events in January, May, July and September to help you settle in.

Housing Options: Saint Mary’s University offers a variety of residence options that allow you to live in the heart of university life. You will develop lasting friendships, experience a great variety of social and educational activities, meet many people from around the world and be a part of a very close community.

Meal Plans & Food Options: Whether you’re living in residence or you just want to grab a quick bite to eat between classes, you’ll never go hungry at Saint Mary’s. We offer a number of convenient cafeteria locations, including our market-style Dockside Dining Hall, which offers a wide range of meal options in a comfortable setting where you can see your meal prepared fresh while you wait.

Athletics & Recreation: is committed to helping people realize their full potential in their intellectual, social and physical dimensions. We are dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in interuniversity and intra-university competition, thereby creating pride with our alumni and student body, while generating positive recognition for the University and the local community.

Students’ Association (SMUSA): New to SMU? If you’re paying tuition fees, you’re an automatic member of the Saint Mary’s University Students’ Association (SMUSA). The association works hard to represent and advocate for all students by:working with the university on academic issues, lobbying government through our affiliation with provincial and federal organizations and coordinating artistic, literary, educational, social, and recreational activities.

Student Societies: Just about everything is more fun when you share it with someone else. Round out your university experience by joining one of the many student societies. By joining a group of students who share similar interests, you’ll quickly make friends and connections with the potential to endure long after your university years are over.

Health & Wellness : Your physical and mental health can make a big difference in your academic success. At Saint Mary’s, we address these factors by promoting and supporting a variety of healthy living initiatives.

Campus Life: Your university experience shouldn't be limited to the campus. Take advantage of all that Halifax has to offer by exploring this urban paradise. Prefer the great outdoors? Venture out of the city and discover Nova Scotia’s lakes, walking trails, and parks.

Student Employment Centre: The Student Employment Centre is open to all students and to recent alumni. Our friendly staff is here to assist you with your job searching and networking strategies. Our goal is for students to become more aware that our centre is very skilled at helping them learn all of the tasks and skills involved in job searching. Our staff is adept in addressing students’ preparation needs and offer guidance. Our staff is also skilled in assisting students who face employment challenges. If you’re looking for an on-campus job, part time or full time, summer, graduating opportunities, recruitment listings and more … we can help!

Services for Students with disabilities: The Support for Students with Disabilities is available through the Atlantic Centre, as well as other campus resources. The Atlantic Centre offers individualized support services including:
