Saint Mary's University
Saint Mary's University is located in Halifax, a great place to call your temporary home. Nestled on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, this port city of almost 400,000 is stepped in history and surrounded by natural beauty.
As Nova Scotia’s capital, Halifax is the major centre of the Maritimes and is the largest city east of Quebec City and north of Boston. With the downtown core and the Atlantic Ocean just steps away, you’ll find lots of great ways to spend your time between classes.
From the moment you arrive on campus, you’ll notice what makes Saint Mary’s special. Our campus is compact yet cosmopolitan, making for a truly unique student experience. Our university is enriched by international students from over 100 countries, who make up almost a quarter of our student body. We combine this diverse, friendly atmosphere with world-class academic programs, a truly global curriculum and many opportunities for personal and intellectual growth.
International and Canadian students learning and working side-by-side, help to create a unique and truly intercultural educational experience for all.

The association works hard to represent and advocate for all students by:working with the university on academic issues, lobbying government through our affiliation with provincial and federal organizations and coordinating artistic, literary, educational, social, and recreational activities.
Student Societies: Just about everything is more fun when you share it with someone else. Round out your university experience by joining one of the many student societies. By joining a group of students who share similar interests, you’ll quickly make friends and connections with the potential to endure long after your university years are over.
