Our aim is to provide the education best suited to the needs of our students and the community we serve. We stress the importance of an academic curriculum supported by all the important sporting, social and cultural aspects of education.

Our student body of over 2,600 includes 150 foreign students who come to our college for the high quality of education. Reports and any credits or grades achieved whilst studying in New Zealand are officially provided to the student’s home country, to help convalidate the student exchange.

An interview and placement test on arrival at Avondale College determines the student’s academic level and which English language classes are needed to better integrate into the mainstream classes. The core focus of these ESOL classes is reading, writing, speaking and listening.
